On March 25th, Freedom Resource Center was invited to teach Youth Disability Awareness to the West Fargo Cub Scouts. It was a great turn out with nearly 30 young scouts accompanied by parents and siblings. The scouts learned about people first language and disability etiquette. The scouts also had a chance to see and use some assistive technology.

The scouts asked appropriate questions and were engaged in learning all they could about disabilities. Many of them related what they learned to classmates who have disabilities.

Freedom ended the education event with a challenge to the scouts. We challenged them to visit with people with disabilities, have lunch with them, or even invite a friend with a disability to their next Cub Scout activity.
