
Newly surfaced and re-striped parking lot in Detroit Lakes, MN. There is no van-accessible parking space (one is required ), there is no van accessible access isle (needs to be 96″ wide), the accessible parking spaces for cars is not wide enough (needs to be 96″ wide), and the access isles for the car parking spaces is not wide enough (needs to be at least 60″ wide). UPDATE: There is a correction for this post. The Minnesota standards for accessible parking spaces state: each accessible parking space must be 8 feet wide (96″) and all accessible parking spaces must have an adjacent 8 foot wide access aisle (96″). Each access aisle shall be marked “no parking”. One in six parking spaces shall be van accessible. –
