ADA Requirements: Parking space identification signs shall include the International Symbol of Accessibility. Signs identifying van parking spaces shall contain the designation “van accessible.”
ND State Law: each reserved space must be indicated by an official sign approved by the director bearing the internationally accepted symbol of access for the mobility impaired. The sign must indicate that unauthorized use of the space is a nonmoving violation for which a fee of one hundred dollars must be imposed.
MN State Law: The Minnesota Department of Transportation requires parking space signs to be BLUE with WHITE lettering. The notice which states the fine for a violation may be mounted below the main sign. At a van accessible space, an additional sign must be mounted below the main sign.
