Retard.Retards.Everywhere is an ACTUAL page on Facebook. Not only is this insensitive and distasteful, but it has 30,000 followers.
Pieta Harris, who flagged the page for Everyone Matters, says she contacted the admin (owner of the Facebook page/group), who was “unsympathetic.”
While mental retardation is not a bad word, when used to describe someone or something you think is bad or stupid it becomes another thoughtless hurtful word. It dehumanizes and mocks those with “mental retardation.”
